Mr. Whittler was born
and raised in San Diego. He graduated from San Diego State
University in 1971, and graduated cum laude from the University of
San Diego School of Law in 1974. Following graduation from law
school, Mr. Whittler served as a Deputy District Attorney in Ventura
County. Since 1980, he has practice in San Diego specializing in
representing clients in real estate and business transactional
matters, partnerships, corporations, and limited liability
companies. He is admitted to practice before the courts of
California, and is a member of the American Bar Association, the
State Bar of California, and the San Diego County Bar Association.
Mr. Whittler's expertise
includes representing clients in business and real estate
transactions, including corporate and business sales and
acquisitions, retail, industrial and commercial properties, hotels
and convalescent care facilities. His experience includes the
formation of limited liability companies and partnerships, and the
representation of various corporations and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Whittler currently
serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the San Diego Hall of
Champions, a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Augustine High
School and a member of NAIOP. He is past Chairman of the San Diego
Transportation Management Association and former member and Chairman
of the San Diego County Assessment Appeals Board.
Mr. Whittler is also
active in the legal community, having served on various bar
association committees, as a delegate to the State Bar Conference of
Delegates, Chairperson of the Land Use/Environmental Law Section,
and Chairperson of the San Diego County Bar Association's Speaker's
Bureau.
